High School Season CanceledThe Badger Conference has elected not to participate in the extended spring softball season this summer. As a result, there will be no official high school season for 2020. All high school aged players are encouraged to register with Portage Youth Softball if they wish to play Portage softball this summer. Related Links: Extended RegistrationRegistration has been extended for the 16/18U League to allow high school players to still register following the news of the high school season cancellation. The regular registration deadline has been extended to Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM. The late registration deadline has been extended to Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 11:59 PM. (All deadlines are subject to change). Please register as soon as possible if you wish to play this summer. Online payment has temporarily been suspended for all new registrations. New registrations will be contacted to pay at a later time once we are confident in having a summer season and know more details about the season. Any interested players need to register online without paying at this time. High school players that are eligible for the 14U League based on their age will need to contact us prior to registering. The online registration form will give an error to any Rookie, 10U, 12U, or 14U players that try to register. Any players at any age level that have not yet registered but are interested in playing this summer should contact us as soon as possible. Volunteer applications are still being accepted for all leagues. No final decisions have been made on coaches. If you are interested in volunteering this upcoming season, fill out a volunteer application as soon as possible. You can access the registration portion of our website here. At-Home TrainingSince we normally are having regular practices in May but are unable to due to COVID-19, we have been posting some online training drills that we want all of our players to work on at-home. These drills focus on a variety of topics including fielding, hitting, bunting, pitching, catching, and more!
Most of these drills require minimal space and equipment and do not take long to complete. We encourage all of our players to attempt as many of these drills as possible so they can progress more quickly once the season begins while staying active during this time at home. Several new drills are added each week! Check them all out on our Training Blog. |
