PORTAGE HIGH SCHOOL WILL FOLLOW THE WIAA RETURN TO SPRING SPORTS CONSIDERATIONS WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT MASKS ARE “REQUIRED” INSTEAD OF “STRONGLY ENCOURAGED”. PORTAGE YOUTH SOFTBALL WILL BE FOLLOWING THESE RETURN TO PLAY CONSIDERATIONS FOR ALL EVENTS. BELOW ARE THE WIAA SOFTBALL CONSIDERATIONS WITH CHANGES MADE TO REFLECT UPDATED REQUIREMENTS OF PORTAGE YOUTH SOFTBALL.
THESE RETURN TO PLAY CONSIDERATIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL HOME & AWAY EVENTS (UNLESS AN AWAY LOCATION HAS STRICTER/SAFER CONSIDERATIONS IN PLACE IN WHICH CASE THOSE CAN BE FOLLOWED). ANY PYS MODIFICATIONS TO THE WIAA CONSIDERATIONS ARE IN RED TEXT.

Pre- and Post-Game Procedure
Umpires are not responsible for monitoring activities outside the competitive area, such as social distancing, hand washing, symptoms of illnesses and other such issues. This monitoring remains with the coaching staff and school personnel.
COVID-19 Safety Precautions are in effect for all 2021 Optional Preseason Practices & Open Gyms. These precautions must be followed by all in attendance. Any person unwilling to adhere to these policies is not allowed to attend.
