DATE: Saturday, July 27, 2019 TIME: To Be Determined (It is likely the first round of games would start at 8:00 or 9:00 AM) LOCATION:Portage High School Softball Fields - Our fields are some of the nicest in South-Central Wisconsin. ELIGIBILITY: 12U B/C Level Teams (Ages 12 and under as of 12/31/2018; Community Based Teams Only - NO SELECT TEAMS) MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TEAMS: We are planning for a maximum of 6 teams. FORMAT: Round Robin (Each team will play most if not all of the other teams once) GAME GUARANTEE: Each team is guaranteed 3 games (weather dependent) and could possibly have 4 games. SCHEDULE: TBD - The schedule will be posted online and emailed to coaches at least one week prior to the tournament. COST: $350 (free parking, well-maintained fields, affordable concessions, and indoor restrooms included) FIELD MAINTENANCE: We are proud to offer high quality facilities. Fields will be dragged between every other game. Areas will be raked, and lines will be touched up as needed between every game. In the event of hot weather, water may be applied to fields as needed to help with dust control. RULES: This tournament will use standard WIAA/NFHS rules with some rule adaptations. A full list of rule adaptations will be posted online and emailed to team coaches prior to the tournament. No new inning will start after 75 minutes. UMPIRES: There will be two umpires for each game. At least one, but possibly both, of the umpires will be WIAA or USA Softball certified. A certified umpire will always be behind the plate.
INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: All teams must show proof of liability insurance to the Tournament Director prior to playing their first game. Teams will not be allowed to participate without proof of insurance. BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS: Birth certificates will not be checked prior to teams playing their first game. However, teams must be prepared to show the Tournament Director legal birth certificates for all their players if requested by the Tournament Director. This will only occur if there are legitimate concerns that players are over the maximum age limit.
REFUND POLICY: Teams shall receive full refunds if the tournament is cancelled prior to the start of the tournament. Teams that are unable to provide proof of insurance will not be eligible for any refund. In the event of severe weather or field conditions that force the Tournament Director to cancel the remainder of the tournament, teams shall receive the following prorated refunds based upon the number of games they played or started.
Zero (0) games completed or started: $300 refund
One (1) game completed or started: $200
Two (2) games completed or started: $100
Three (3) games completed or started: NO REFUND
Teams that withdraw their registration prior to the start of the tournament shall receive the following refunds:
Prior to April 1, 2019: $300
Prior to June 1, 2019: $200
Prior to July 1, 2019: $100
On or after July 1, 2019: NO REFUND
CARRY-IN POLICY: Teams are reminded that a fully-stocked and affordable concession stand will be available for the duration of the tournament. Concession stand offerings will be posted online and emailed to team coaches prior to the start of the tournament. No carry-ins are allowed at this tournament except for players that carry-in water and sports drinks to stay hydrated.
